More and more of our sales are coming from in and around Cambridge itself despite the number of competitors found there. Clients are saying that we’re offering a great design service but at a better price
In an economy in recession with consumers lacking confidence to invest in big ticket items, we at Nicholas Hythe Kitchen Design Studio seem to be bucking the trend as our business goes from strength to strength.
This last week was a big week for us at Nicholas Hythe Kitchen Design Studio. After weeks of fit out phase one of our second showroom, in St Ives near Huntingdon, Cambs, is almost complete!
Visitors to our website will have noticed the string of icons showing all the services that the installation of a new fitted kitchen are likely to require and how they act as a reminder of the trust clients put in us
At Nicholas Hythe we believe good design marries the beautiful and the practical to create the perfect dream kitchen for a client. It’s not all about the look (important as that is) but it’s about individual requirements, practicality and ergonomics. On top of that, and perhaps most importantly, we listen intently to a potential client’s wishes about what they want and how they use their kitchen.
So why are we succeeding when many ‘big ticket’ retailers are struggling? As with most successful businesses it’s about giving customers what they want at a price they’re prepared to pay for the quality and service offered. Our long experience told us that what potential clients wanted was to rely on a company that will take all the stress and hassle away from fitting their dream kitchen.
And, in a nutshell, that’s what we do really well! When you start to think about the complexity of fitting a new kitchen and all the trades that have to be managed to ensure it turns just the way you’ve agreed with us, it can give all but the professional supplier sleepless nights!
The 1970s are also remembered for glam-rock, punk and disco and, if you were growing up like I was, the classic must have toys such as the Chopper bike, skateboard and the smurfs! That little wave of nostalgia was brought on by a comment by my brother and business partner after I’d mentioned that the pictures of a kitchen we’d recently installed had a very modern yet retro feel.
With so many kitchen companies looking for business, no doubt all doing a job they love and are presumably good at, being successful in these difficult times means we have to bring something else to the proverbial party to win new clients.
So that’s the long summer holidays over with for another year and I can hear the cheers (or is it sighs of relief?) of many parents and grandparents throughout the country! Only joking!  If, like us, it’s been great to enjoy a glass of wine well into the long summer nights,  spend some quality time […]
With the worldwide economy continuing to contract as consumers and businesses rein in any discretionary income they have – something as retailers of new fitted kitchens we’re heavily reliant on – I’m struck by two news stories that have come out over the past week about Apple and Sony and how they’re each reacting to […]
